Time Waits By: Alexis Aslan
Time waits for no one s it travels across the universe, hoping to catch
A glimpse of its waves, circling to completion.
Time travels on, catching lives loved and lives lost,
Circling through waves of nothingness, waiting.
Time loves to watch people dancing, enjoying themselves,
Living life and the time it brings with it.
Time digs down deep into the waves of life bringing out of it
Ways to keep going…as it waits.

Beauty and Truth Remain
Beauty and Truth Remain By: Alexis Aslan
Now is the moment where everything changes.
But beauty and truth remain.
They observe and they ponder – they have no concept of time.
To them, the world is in one big moment, forever in place.
Beauty and Truth know not of suffering, loss or greed
Or of changes of our world.
They listen.
They do not feel, they understand.
That the world in our eyes forever changes,
But beauty and truth remain.
Love's Sweet Embrace
Love’s Sweet Embrace By: Alexis Aslan
The peacefulness of morning, writing away the hours -
Words surround me, like a bubble of inspiration, love, and peace.
It engulfs my entire being - Spreading and waiting
To go through me and into the lives of others.
The peacefulness of morning, writing away the hours -
Words surround me, like a bubble of inspiration, love, and peace.
It engulfs my entire being - Spreading and waiting
To go through me and into the lives of others.
Society Tells Me Right
Society Tells Me Right By: Alexis Aslan
The past haunted me like a raven in the night.
The voices surrounded me like a bubble of fright.
The present was not happy,
For there were obstacles around every corner.
The future was as far away as the desert.
It was something I could not grasp, lying just out of reach.
But society tells me,
“If you just try more, you’ll achieve more than you’ll ever know…”
The past won’t come to haunt you,
The raven will be shot,
The voices surrounding you will be smothered to death.
The present will be happy
For the obstacles will no longer be there.
The future will be brighter,
You will grasp it and hold it
Until it comes to light.
This time…society tells me right.
The past haunted me like a raven in the night.
The voices surrounded me like a bubble of fright.
The present was not happy,
For there were obstacles around every corner.
The future was as far away as the desert.
It was something I could not grasp, lying just out of reach.
But society tells me,

The Blank Page Before Me
The Blank Page Before Me By: Alexis Aslan
Sitting at a blank page
Words surround my entire being
The blank page strikes!
Who knows what will be written upon it
Or what life it will lead.
The blank page talks to me and says,
“You better write something on me,
Or you’re going to fail!”
I respond –
“You know nothing of my future,
For I have not written on you.
My future is destined to be in my hands.
I control you blank page,
And I will write when I want to.”
The blank page just looks at me,
Not sure what to say –
For I want to be an author,
But I’m still sitting
At the blank page before me.
Sitting at a blank page
Words surround my entire being
The blank page strikes!
Who knows what will be written upon it
Or what life it will lead.
The blank page talks to me and says,
“You better write something on me,
Or you’re going to fail!”
I respond –
“You know nothing of my future,
For I have not written on you.
My future is destined to be in my hands.
I control you blank page,
And I will write when I want to.”
The blank page just looks at me,
Not sure what to say –
For I want to be an author,
But I’m still sitting
At the blank page before me.
Release
Release By: Alexis Aslan
Dedication: The 44th President of the United States – Barak Obama
Joy pouring throughout our hearts, giving, pleading,
Begging for peace;
For a better way of life,
And for an end to all our days.
Feelings are mixed in our hearts, beckoning us to see
A time of newness, a promise
Of justice and righteousness.
Wait…
The Angels say.
Just look at what we have to show you,
Through the deeds of just one man.
The Angels speak of a time,
Where peace reigns on Earth
And the greater good for all reigns supreme.
From Exodus to return
He is delivering what He has promised.

History By: Alexis Aslan
The world forever changes between time and space,
For all eternity.
Two people that are molded by a bond,
That not even death could break.
How to describe this bond? One word –
History – Sweet History.

For all eternity.
Two people that are molded by a bond,
That not even death could break.

The Light
The Light By: Alexis Aslan
The world around me crumbles in the multitude, the emmanent light
Laid before me. What can I see but the light?
It taunts me, haunts me, as it calls out to me. I lay there listening to the call.
It begs me to follow it, to never cease or try to understand.
It is light and I upon the multi-colored streams. A prism full of joy, grace, and mercy. I feel safe and I feel loved.
I am light; the force of warmth that beckons to be free. I let go.
Suddenly I am plunged into darkness. Yet,
I am the light; I can still see that which shines through the darkness,
Encompassing everything!
Now I am the moon illuminating the darkest of nights.
I initiate the call,
“Come share in my light. I am light, as are you.”
The world around me crumbles in the multitude, the emmanent light
Laid before me. What can I see but the light?
It taunts me, haunts me, as it calls out to me. I lay there listening to the call.

A Message
A Message By: Alexis Aslan
Publication: Noble House (International Library of Poetry) IN Songs of Honour Anthology 2006
Dedication: To all those who forget to Look Within.
Let the past be a show, let it flow with you,
Don’t attach to it, keep a distance.
Let the present be, flow with the moment;
The future is within you, life will be as it will.
Stop fighting, flow, and let it happen,
For everything happens for a reason.
Although we may not know it, the reason has a lesson.
It is our job to learn it.
Let not our thinking harm us,
For we control what effects us, and what will just slide off.
You are in control of your own destiny.
Your fate is in your hands, not another’s.
Your life, fate,
And the answers to your questions,
Have always been inside you.

A New Life
A New Life By: Alexis Aslan
Publication: The International Library of Poetry IN The Colors of Life Anthology 2003
Dedication: Peter Kellett 1918-2002
Start a new life they say,
But I know it is not easy,
To get up and start over again.
Trapped in this place,
This place in my mind
Don’t know what is going on.
Please someone tell me why?
How do I get out of this place?
I feel trapped
As if I am drowning,
Someone help!
I can not take this anymore.
Sometimes I feel if I can just end it,
End my life, I won’t be in,
So much pain and grief,
If I can just join him again.
But then I hear a knock on the door,
Suddenly these thoughts are stopped,
Just as quickly as they came,
Stopped, for at least one day.
